Efficiently Registering Video into Panoramic Mosaics


Summary

In this work we present an automatic and efficient method to register all the frames of a video into a large panoramic mosaic based on adaptive keyframe selection, an interframe-keyframe matching strategy and a feature correspondence compression technique. To illustrate the quality of the registrations we are able to achieve with our approach, see the images below. These images are obtained by compositing between 500-1000 registered frames of 1280x720 pixel video shot using a high-definition (HD) camera.
