Who are we?

Computational Hydrosystems Research Lab (CHLab) is led by Dr. Ahmad Shakibaeinia, Professor and Canada Research Chair (in Computational Hydrosystems) at the Department of Civil, Geological & Mining Engineering, Polytechnique Montreal. At this research lab we develop and apply computer models, algorithms, and data to understand and solve complex problems related to hydrosystems (i.e. natural and man-made water bodies).
Research Highlights

  • Research domains:  Computational fluid mechanics and hydraulics; Multiphase flows; Granular flow and sediment dynamics; Fluvial mechanics; Cold-region hydraulics

  • Current projects themes:
      • Numerics for multiphysics
      • Scientific machine learning
      • Fluvial mechanics
      • Granular flows and sediment dynamics
      • Ice mechanics
